Sympatheia SCHOLARSHIP
We are made for each other
The purpose of the Sympatheia scholarship is to recognize the investment one LaRue County High School student has made in their community by serving others. It could be a big initiative or the accumulation of small acts of kindness a student has engaged in - but the result is the same, a better community because we are made for each other.
As Ryan Holiday writes, “When other people suffer, we suffer. When the world suffers, we suffer. We are all unified and share the same substance. We share the same hopes and dreams.” The students applying for this scholarship understand that notion.
Below you can apply one of two ways:
1) Write a 400 word (or less) essay
- or -
2) Create a 3 minute (or less) video
The prompt is simply this: How have you served your community and its members?
Possible examples could be:
How have you served your community?
Have you worked in a food bank, taken care of someone who couldn’t take care of themselves, advocated for positive change on behalf of others?
